No Man’s Sky, a game by indie developers Hello Games. It is essentially an indie game that got so hyped some might even say overhyped and that’s its main problem. A lot of people expected something different from the game but no one knew exactly what the game was going to be, final product was a space exploration game.

(a game about talking to floating balls that you won’t understand and that will send you to find other space balls)
There’s problems with the game that no one can deny and stuff missing from the final product compared to what was announced (you can find the list here) but I don’t mind all that stuff, I enjoy it for what it is. It doesn’t have any structured missions or a story that you can easily follow and understand what is going on. No, it’s a game about being lost and that’s where I enjoyed playing No Man’s Sky the most. I was looking for an antimatter formula for 3 days on my third star system. I combed through every inch of all 3 planets that were there, learned so many words of Vykeen, the alien species that was inhabiting that system, that I could have more or less understand what they wanted from me. ( that reminded me of my first few month in england when I couldn’t talk
After 3 days, I gave up and bought it from one of the trade outposts and decided it’s time to move to a different star system. Those 3 days taught me that this game is not about rushing your way to the center of the galaxy or going to the atlas stations as soon as possible. It’s about exploring and being stranded. Just the sheer size of the game is impressive with 18 quintillion of planets, yes some of them are going to be similar and mainly barren.
Then you will find one planet that is unique and has those giant dinosaur looking creatures and you lose yourself walking around it for hours. It’s a very chill game and you don’t need to rush anywhere just explore. I find myself spending up to 5-6 hours on each planet I visit and I love it. There are space battles but they feel a bit clunky at first and then when you upgrade your ship a little and get the hang of the controls they become too easy, there is still something very satisfying in saying enemy ships blow up even if it wasn’t a challenge at all.
There are people who will hate No Man’s Sky and there will be people who will love it. Was it worth $60? For me yes but for most people I would say no it wasn’t.
If you want to try No Man’s Sky, I would suggest waiting for the sale and for Hello Games to patch it a few more times so it can resemble the game that was promised to us.
