Mega Man is turning 30, and a Capcom is celebrating with a special collaboration with iam8bit.
That’s right gang, Iam8bit, the site that’s likely most popular for bringing some of our favorite video game soundtracks to vinyl, is pairing up with Capcom to celebrate Mega Man’s 30th birthday. The collaboration is something kind of new, something kind of old, but something really amazing.!
Cartridges?
Now there’s a word you probably haven’t heard in a long time in regards to gaming. Not counting the Switch of course, but these aren’t Switch cartridges! However, they will work with some certain Nintendo systems from the past.
Iam8bit is releasing two, working special edition Mega Man cartridges. Mega Man 2 for the NES and Mega Man X for the Super Nintendo. Good news for you retro gamers out there, there’s a new release to look forward to. The cartridges are manufactured by Infinte NES Lives and Retrotainment Games, which are both companies big on bringing the past to the present in new and exciting ways.
Mega Man 2 looks as good as ever!
Both Mega Man carts will run you a cool $100. For the casual collector like myself, this seems a little high, but for the mega Mega Man fan in your life, this could be a real steal. One of the most exciting features, is that every order runs the chance of being an even more special edition version of the games. The plastic, instead of the general color, may be glow in the dark blue! Time to dust off the old blacklight for the full experience.

The cartridges will ship out sometime in late September of this year, but as with most limited run gaming collectibles, if you want one, you should order as soon as possible! Check out the short trailer below showcasing the games.
