Stunt Kite Party is the Switch title by Handy Games about controlling kites in a Mario Party-esque world!
Stunt Kite Party is game about flying kites and stopping the banning of kite flying in some of the big cities. Is this actually a problem in the kite flying community? Is there an actual kite flying community? To spice things up the game breaks each section down into a couple mini games that range from knocking other kites out of the sky to avoiding missiles sent to destroy your kite. Yes, you read that right, missiles. Personally a pair of scissors would be just as effective.
The controls in the game are quite difficult even once you understand that turning right rotates you clockwise and turning left rotates you counter clockwise. Your opponents by default don’t have the stuttering issues of trying to figure out controls when you are struggling. However lose the level enough times and the game allows you the opportunity to skip it. I advise not doing this because the levels just get harder and it would be better to improve your skills by trying again and again.
Now for the verdict. Graphically it is about on par with most games from the Wii and WiiU era so nothing spectacular here. Gameplay is difficult, maddening and take away from any possible enjoyment of the game. Even at the $10 price point you’d be better off saving your money. Might want to wait for a 90% off sale before wasting your time.
