It’s rare that I get to sit and enjoy a game on Steam but in this series we will examine the few I have been able to play.
In part 1 of our Steam series we will be discussing The Darwin project and Tower 57! Let’s jump right in and see what I thought of them both.
Darwin Project
This game is a unique battle royale system that has players trying to be the last one standing but allows for a show host to turn the tables on players as well as an interactive crowd. Conceptually it seems like an unlicensed version of the Hunger Games but without all of the theatrics or branding. It also lacks the child murder too so that’s a plus. For a casual player like myself I found it difficult to get an upper hand on players that have been playing since launch, but mechanically I found the game enjoyable.
Tower 57
You play as a special agent, bent on bringing down the tower. Working with your partner you blast every enemy one floor at a time until you reach the top. With a variety of weapons you can blast your way through but working your partner will ensure your survival. As far as isometric shooters go this one may not have had the best graphics but I did enjoy the steam punk aesthetic. Overall gameplay was simple enough to learn an I found the game to be enjoyable.
