Bridge Constructor was the physics puzzler from HeadUp Games. Well they are back at it again and this time the bridges lead to various stunts with some major air time.
I have always been a fan of physics based puzzles and this was no exception. As you progress through the stages collecting golden bolts the puzzles get more difficult. In the initial levels you have outlines to identify where each piece should be placed including the support beams to better, well support the tracks. Once various ramps are built you, no you aren’t building only bridges, you will not only need to clear a given space but some levels require you to perform a minimum number of flips or change the trajectory to hit those coveted bolts.

The game is amusing and can easily be addicting as you try repeatedly for better scores, bolts, and making your tricks even better with a smidge of achievement/trophy hunting on the side. The graphics are vibrant and clean, except of course when you drive through those red barrels. As any video game aficionado can tell you, red barrels explode and explode they shall. I have yet to destroy a car driving through them so I can’t tell you if it is possible or not. All I know at this point is the explosions look superb and seem to do no damage to the vehicle but wreck the track as well as any structures. It is very satisfying to hit one barrel and watch as you drive through a series of explosions detonating behind you as you get ever closer to the finish line.
Overall Bridge Constructor is fun with solid graphics, however I feel like it might be more enjoyable on a tablet or smart phone rather than the console. Currently at $9.99, I would suggest waiting for a sale or purchasing the iOS/android port. The controller just moved slower than I would have liked and I felt that my hand could have done the job as cleanly and much faster to return me to the action of my designated vehicle drive towards the goal.
