Crazy in Love With Yandere Simulator

The Yandere Simulator: Would you do anything for love? Would you steal? Would you kill?

Welcome to Yandere Simulator, where you play as a girl who takes things too far. This stealth-action/romance game is an indie game with a growing following online. You take the role of a Yandere character, someone who’s obsessive and possibly violent when it comes to their love interest. Currently being developed by YandereDev, Yandere Simulator promises to be a fun, unique experience.

Daisuki, Yandere-chan

Ayano Aishi (Yandere-chan/Yan-chan) is a high school student who has recently developed a huge crush on Taro Yamada (Senpai), a fellow student. Thing is, she’s sickly obsessed with him. Problems arise when other girls began taking notice of Taro-senpai. Over the course of ten weeks, she must stop her rivals from confessing their feelings to Taro by any means necessary without anyone suspecting her of foul play, especially Senpai.

What Yandere Simulator Has to Offer

As mentioned, Yandere Simulator is primarily a stealth-action game, revolving around Yandere-chan getting closer to Senpai and removing her rivals. You stalk your crush, spread rumors, and use improvised weapons all while trying to go unnoticed. Every week, a new girl comes into the picture and develops feelings for Senpai. You must stop them however you can. Best of all, despite the heavy KILL’EM ALL theme, you can actually take alternate paths. You can get your rivals expelled, hook them up with someone else, or get them to commit suicide.

Yandere-Simulator offers a huge variety of choices to completing the game. Best of all, the polish going into the game is quite deep. If you kill your rivals, you must do so stealthily and clean up your tracks. If you get caught or Taro sees you, it’s game over. If you take a non-lethal path, you need to do it without harming your own reputation otherwise Senpai will lose interest in you.

Alternative Gameplay

What started out as a random brainstorm on 4chan’s video game board (seriously), Yandere Simulator has come a long way since 2014. Initially, the game was simple: a good ending would have Yan-chan with Senpai and a bad ending would end with a murder-suicide. Since then, multiple endings have been created and even a new game mode was introduced.

Mission Mode is more akin to the Hitman series. You play as an assassin on a kill mission. However, another professional stands in your way, your Nemesis. In addition, the game is modable. Just a heads up though, it might not be fully customizable, like say Skyrim, in its final build.

Some Hesitation

Right now, it’s all talk. The future of the game is still unsure. On YandereDev’s update blog, he can’t guarantee every feature he wants and what the fans want will be in the final build. Naturally, financial donations and volunteers are needed but indie games haven’t been kind to gamers. We don’t want another No Man’s Sky or Mighty No. 9. It looks promising but I advise you keep some reservations.

Hoping for a Good Ending

Yandere Simulator is a fresh idea and is actually being developed. YandereDev is a working professional so at the very least, the game will be “complete”. But I look forward to its release and what the final game will look like.
