Warhammer Quest 2 – now available for Steam

Perchang’s Warhammer Quest 2 is a Steam game based on the classic board game.

Warhammer Quest 2 is the direct sequel to the mobile game from Rodeo Games, but instead of focusing on stopping the orks players must now stop the threat of the hordes of chaos.

Visually the game has improved greatly when compared to its predecessor and and controls look and feel the same. The biggest difference in both games other than story is that 2 comes with a whole new list of character types.

Let’s meet the characters

The Empire Captain

A solid fighter, he is best in close range and can be quite the powerhouse if armed with the proper weapons.

The Witch Hunter

Can be a close range and long range fighter but I’ve found that at long range he rarely hits but if he does it can be almost as strong as his melee attacks.

The Ogre

He is by far the heaviest hitter and should NEVER leave your lineup. If you want to crush your foes have him do the hitting- most enemies die with a single hit from this brute.

Bretonnian Knight

Another bruiser that is a must have in your lineup alongside the ogre.

Glade Guard

This elf is one of the better ranged characters in accuracy but damage output is low in that regard. This character is better in the frontline but does not take a beating well. You’d be better off switching out for a different character.

The Blood Knight

This knight is another solid bruiser. Him along with the Brettonian Knight and Ogre are three of the four I prefer to field in each dungeon.

Warrior Priest

She has a lot of potential as another bruiser but at low levels she is just too soft to field.

Dwarf Slayer

In the first game this was the most formidable character but he leaves something to be desired in this version. He can take a beating but sadly can’t return one.

Elf Mage

This character is a ranged fighter that looks great in game. Sadly he is easy to defeat and doesn’t deal much damage in return.

Greatsword

A human soldier that can both deal a good amount of damage and soak up a decent amount as well. Worth having on the team if you can’t use the Ogre, Blood Knight or Bretonnian Knight.

Wardancer

A fast fighter that can do an okay amount of damage but is a bit weak. However he is one of the best at dodging enemy attacks.

Dark Elf Sorceress

She is by far the strongest ranged fighter, allowing you to get multiple high damage attacks per turn. She is a must have in your team.

Conclusion

The game is a great deal more challenging than its predecessor but I found the story much more interesting. I especially enjoyed the greater selection of enemies to fight. At only about $20 for the game it is worth playing but feels a bit steep, however considering the fact that they have improved the graphics and made all characters available it takes some of the sting away.
