Net Neutrality – As pondered by an inebriated arachnid
I won’t get into much detail here unless absolutely needed. But here is a beer for thought? (*editor’s note: “Detail is literally what you SHOULD be getting into! Oh, and that’s a much better phrase than last time.”)
Could Ajit Pai be the villain that brings America together? That might make him one of the greatest Anti-Heroes known to man. Let’s look at the definition of anti-hero.
Ok, so let’s look at America as the central backdrop for this story. Let’s view Ajit Pai as the story’s main character. Let’s make some perspective.
Imagine Ajit Pai drinking out of his gigantic Reese’s mug, (*editor’s note: “OMG that mug!”) watching the news. He sees a country divided. A country with views so broad in spectrum that it’s citizens are fighting amongst each other on epic scales. He sees it on TV, hears it on the radio, reads it in the newspaper.
In a moment of strength or weakness he day dreams of saving his country. He knows the ins and outs of the telecommunications industry. He hatches a plan. A plan that will unify his country like no other. America loves their Internet. What if he took it away? Would they ban together like never before? Whether he’s done it wittingly or unwittingly it’s folding out to be great story that parodies the great tale of the Watchmen.
I think it’s about 86% of Americans agree on having Net Neutrality stay in place. (*editor’s note: “I’ll bet you typed that number and then did a Bing search to find an article that supported it.”) The other percentage (*editor’s note: “It’s 14%…how was that hard?”) might be mole people and are upset by too much noise. I don’t know. I don’t remember seeing that percentage people agree on anything in a long time. That in itself is a feat the people should be proud of for a long time.
Ajit Pai is one of the greatest villains of the American internet. You don’t touch our interweb. That is when us internet dwellers (*editor’s note: cough…”trolls!”) pull back the curtains and start looking outside.
At this point, perspective is all we have. Opinions, are all we have. The future of net neutrality is in question. Where ever our country’s fate lies, imagine if one man sacrificed himself for the greatness of our country’s future?
Ajit Pai will be one of the greatest anti-heroes (editor’s note: “Dude…” THIS) of our time by being the “Villain.” Rallying us together to hate him. Imagine if this was his plan all along?
Yep. I have had about 6 beers too many today.
This has been Drunken Spidey. Until next time, throw me a beer.
