The Scribblenauts Mega Pack, by WB Games, contains both classics Scribblenauts Unmasked and Scribblenauts Unlimited.
Ever wanted to solve mysteries using your imagination like a Green Lantern or using deductive reasoning like Batman? Scribblenauts Unmasked allows you to do both, as does Unlimited. The difference between the two is in Unlimited you can’t call on your favorite DC characters. Literally every DC character I could think of is in the game. Of course there are newer characters that have been created in the last year that you won’t find, like Sideways.
Unmasked tells the story an alternate version of Maxwell (the main character) is trying to collect all of the starites. This doppelganger has more than collecting in mind as he wants to use the power to take over the world. Alternatively Unlimited focuses on collecting starites to save Maxwell’s sister from being permanently frozen in stone. See a theme? In every game in the franchise you play Maxwell and search for starites. The similarities don’t end there. In all titles Maxwell travels to different locations and helps solve puzzles to earn the starites and pieces of starites. Each game is also filled with collectibles, such as costumes of specific heroes or special monsters. Once unlocked these items can be used in any location.
One drastic change in Unmasked compared to other titles is that you are penalized for repetition. Specifically within the same level. You summon items to you using your magic notebook by spelling them out. If you don’t know how to spell a word the game will prompt you will what it thinks you are trying to write. For instance if you want Batman and type Bat it will suggest Batman or Bat (Animal) and you can select the one you want.
For my family if its a Scribblenauts title then it’s a win, but add the ability to play as Joe’s Garage Joker and I love it.
